Export control events were held in Yerevan (Armenia) in February 2023.

The representatives of Center for non-proliferation and export control together with representatives from Ministry of Economy and Commerce, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Health and Customs Service under Ministry of Finance, from 13 to 17 of February had participated in Study Visit for Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, and Cross-Regional Workshop for Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia in Erevan (Armenia) which were organized by Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA, Germany) with support from OSCE Program Office in Bishkek.

Those events were logical continuation of EU P2P export control programs for arms. For five days delegation from Kyrgyzstan together with colleagues from different countries studied progressive approaches by Armenian authorities to establishment and implementation of export control regimes in the country.

One of the innovations was establishment of an Identification Center for assisting the National authorities’ in identification and classification of dual-use and military goods that goes under export control regime. Also colleges from EU countries shared their vision, approaches and problems in areas of export control that they faced in day-to-day life. Those events were very useful for our delegation because Kyrgyzstan also have the same problems as many others, particularly in identification of dual-use products. The creation similar system of Identification Centers will be very helpful to our ministries and agencies who involved in export control.
