Within the framework of the Regional Conference, Kazakhstan signed a Memorandum between the Centre for Non-Proliferation and Export Control and the Centre for International Security and Policy.In the city of Nur-Sultan of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on 18 April 2019, in the framework of the Regional Conference “Autonomous systems of lethal weapons: a preventive ban”, a Memorandum was signed between the Center on Non-Proliferation and Export Control and the Center for International Security and Policy.As noted by the Executive Director of the Center for Nonproliferation and Export Control, Taalaybek Bektashev, for the first time in the history of the Central Asian region, similar agreements are concluded between non-governmental organizations of the two countries, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.The main goal of the Memorandum is to implement cooperation in the field of international security assistance, including WMD nonproliferation, disarmament, export control, arms control and other international initiatives that promote security.The conclusion of the Memorandum also promotes one of the ideas of the Center to create an informal network of non-governmental organizations involved in international security assistance, including in the field of implementation of UNSCR 1540. The formation of a community of experts from different countries, united by one goal and idea, will contribute to the effective implementation of the set tasks.
