Consultative meetings on optimization of legislation in the field of export control, December 10 – 14, 2018, in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic
As a part of fulfillment of the National Action Plan of the Kyrgyz Republic on the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1540, consultative meetings on the optimization of legislation in the field of export control were held in Bishkek on December 10th to December 14th,2018.
The event was attended by representatives of state bodies of the Kyrgyz Republic: the Ministry of Economy, the Government Office, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the State Committee for Defense Affairs, the State Customs Service at the GKR, the State Border Service, the State Committee for National Security, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Academy of Sciences, the State Industry, Energy and Subsoil Use Committee and the Ministry of Justice.OSCE and the Center for Non-Proliferation and Export Control experts presented drafts of normative legal acts in the field of implementation of the Convention on the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons and Enforcement for consideration and discussion at the meeting.In addition, issues of further work in this direction were discussed.Also, within the framework of draft law “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts in the Field of Export Control” promotion, bilateral meetings were held with deputies of the Kyrgyz Parliament (Jogorku Kenesh) to clarify certain aspects of the draft law.
