The Global Voices: Celebrating Diversity in Biosafety and Biosecurity conference was held in Arusha, Tanzania, from 22 to 24 January 2025. Pre-conference workshops were held from 20 to 21 January. The conference was organized by the International Federation of Biosafety Associations (IFBA) and the Tanzania Biosafety Association (TaBSA), with support from Global Affairs Canada, as part of the Global Partnership Against the Spread of Weapons and Materials of Mass Destruction to advance a shared commitment to inclusivity and bridge-building in our global community.

Under the central theme of “Celebrating Diversity in Biosafety and Biosecurity”, the event brought together a rich tapestry of ideas and perspectives from 216 delegates from 55 countries, including Mr. Marat Sadykov, a representative of the Center for Non-Proliferation and Export Control and a consultant in the field of radiation, chemical and biological (bacteriological) defense.

More than 80 speakers and panelists contributed to a constructive dialogue between regions leading to a better understanding of the biosafety and biosecurity challenges we face and innovative solutions to mitigate these biological risks.

The Center would like to express its sincere gratitude to all delegates, partners and sponsors for their invaluable contributions and collaborative spirit, which were critical to achieving the positive results and making the Global Voices conference so memorable. We look forward to building on the success of this event and continuing to work together.

We invite to watch the video “Global Voices: Diversity is Strength”, launched during the opening ceremony of the conference. Global Voices: Diversity is Strength
